Fundraiser: 5 Kids, 5 K !
Thank you to all who gave!
Guess what? Miss Rose was wrong. She has now learned that when lots of people work together, big goals are not too big. Miss Rose also learned she needs to listen to her students more often.
Our goal is to raise $5,000. The kids have successfully raised $2,500 and Miss Rose is going to practice running this summer until she can do 5km by herself, inspired by her passionate and hard-working students. She will keep raising money during the summer to perhaps bring our combined goal to $5,000. Since at the moment she can only run 400m without a break, prayer might be a good idea. : )
Together, these gifts, we will be providing:
- Emergency Food Packs - Provides families with essentials like rice, oils, oats, milk, corn and meat - enough for a whole month!
- Hygiene Kits - Provides families with health items like face masks, gloves, soap, disinfectant, cleaning products and sanitary items for women.
- Rent Assistance - Helps cover rent for those who cannot otherwise stay in their homes because of loss of work.
- Home Reconstruction - Helps reconstruct and furnish a three-bedroom home for a family who has lost theirs in the midst of a global pandemic.
Again, thank you everyone! This has been a very special adventure.
Covid has lasted a LONG time. Around the world, families are struggling with losing jobs. Paying rent, groceries and other everyday things suddenly got a lot harder, especially for families that earned less than $10 a day before the pandemic.
Like our 5K run, together - helping out when someone needs it most - we can do it!
We want to bring much-needed relief to children and families living in poverty who have been impacted by COVID-19. We chose Compassion, an organization Miss Rose is very familiar with, that specializes in child development through local churches and communities in 25 countries, from Bangladesh to Uganda.
