Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm looking to help bring much-needed relief to children and families living in poverty who have been impacted by COVID-19. And I'd like to invite you along in the journey!
Did you know that this crisis has the potential to undo at least 10 years of progress toward poverty alleviation in developing countries?
This prediction is heartbreaking. But, I refuse to let it become a reality. Together, with your support, I am partnering with Compassion to equip the local church across the globe to provide immediate relief—like desperately needed food, housing security and hygiene supplies—to the most vulnerable communities among us. Through the COVID-19 fund, Compassion is seeking to help restore what COVID-19 has destroyed through urgent provision of critical needs like:
- Food kits with rice, eggs, meat, milk and non-perishables
- Medical care
- Housing support like rent relief
- Hygiene supplies like sanitizer, soap, vitamins and supplements, household cleaning supplies and protective masks.
Will you join me in helping restore what COVID-19 has destroyed for those in poverty?

Get to know me
My name is Tosin Jones. I recently became a volunteer for Compassion Canada. If you're interested in or wondering how I got to this point, please keep reading.
I grew up in one of the big cities in Nigeria. Not too far from where we lived at the time, were people who'd just sit by the roadside. Every time we'd drive by, they would rush to the car knocking on the windows asking for money, food, anything. It took some time for my young mind at the time to really grasp that they weren't begging because they want to, they were begging because they had to. The sad reality hit me like a rock and I'd cry inwardly almost every time we drove past them. I would say to myself "when I grow up, I'll be very rich. I'll build a BIG house for them. I'll feed them morning, afternoon, and night. I'll give them all the monies they'll ever want".
I remember once while in my teenage years, in the back seat of the car. I noticed a young boy (looked like he was around the same age as me at the time) begging and chasing cars to ask them for money and food. At the same time, I was also having my lunch (that my dad bought for me lol). I knew in my heart I wasn't going to finish that food even if I tried so I carefully wrapped the food in the pack it came in along with the (unopened) drink and politely asked the driver to stop so I could offer the boy my food. I remember the gleeful smile on his face as he thanked me repeatedly. As we drove off, I looked back at him and muttered under my breath "when I grow up, I'll be rich. I'll build a BIG house for them. I'll feed them morning, afternoon, and night. I'll give them all the monies they'll ever want".
Fast forward to when I moved to Canada. The heart and passion for helping people grew stronger and I felt God's call upon my life. But I got scared. I didn't know how, when, or what to do. So I held off on it for a long time.
In June 2019, some ambassadors from Compassion Canada came to our church and I listened with keen interest. It was then I felt the nudge in my spirit to sign up. But I still didn't because I was scared to step out in faith with it.
When Covid-19 hit, my heart especially moved towards those who weren't able to isolate or observe lockdown properly because (1) they don't have homes to isolate in (2) they couldn't isolate for long because their source of income is from passers-by who sadly are on lockdown. I finally took the plunge and reached finally to Compassion Canada.
So here I am! A Compassion Canada volunteer, passionate about providing help and support to those in need, especially at this time when help is needed more than ever. Now is the time to be the hands and feet of Jesus and spread His gospel of love around the world. Let's hit the $10,000 mark. There's no amount of help that's too little or too much.
Will you join me in helping restore what Covid-19 has destroyed for those in poverty? We can do this together! We can rise as one!
