Many years ago, I got to spend a "milestone birthday" in the Dominican Republic, through an exposure trip, seeing the wonderful work of Compassion and the local church. One of my favorite days was spent visiting a Child Survival Program, a program for caregivers and their infants. This program has always been close to my heart (and even now especially as a mom!)

For my birthday this year, I am raising funds for Compassion's initiatives for Moms and Babies. These initiatives are helping babies and their caregivers survive in the most critical time of life by providing things such as life-saving medical care for both moms and babies, food, pre-natal care and support, and job skills training for moms. These gifts are vital to ensure that babies and their mothers not only survive, but thrive.
