Our world has been irrevocably changed. The needs that existed before the pandemic have been compounded by the staggering needs emerging due to the pandemic. The number of people living in poverty globally rose by an estimated 131 million people in 2020, bringing the total to over 800 million people.
It's hard to see the good. But what if we chose to give good gifts to those who need it most?
When you support Compassion's Education and Training initiatives, you help kids and youth in poverty access learning resources and educational opportunities that will equip them for futures free from poverty. Your gifts will provide access to textbooks and computers at Compassion centres and learning materials and tuition for students in vocational training, college and university. Education is one of the most powerful ways to lift kids out of poverty, but with one in five kids not in school and approximately 1 billion kids falling behind due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the gift of education is as important as ever.
